I have received emails from readers with questions about SEO: Facebook and Google+ , here are questions to be addressed:
- How about linking between Facebook home page and our website..is this constructive for link building?
- Does google search WordPress sites or Facebook mentions?
- Facebook can help your SEO work better?
- SEO and WordPress Links.
And today I will answer that question for people to be able to understand and perform jobs SEO better.
Facebook can help your SEO work better?
Facebook links in the profile itself are ‘nofollow’ as are shared links. So even if the links are publically visible to Google, they are ‘nofollow,’ and therefore have less value for SEO. That said, now that we live in a post-Penguin world, there is probably some value even in nofollow links as they make a more natural link profile, and due to link sculpting by overly zealous SEOs. So I think that even for SEO purposes, there is some value in Facebook links.
Facebook and Google+: Choice is good for SEO
However, as Google+ it’s pretty clear that the No. 1 link sharing platform for SEO will be Google . Try to get your URL’s shared on Google+ ! Try to get your website pages ‘ 1′d’ by people who actually use Google.
SEO and WordPress Links
WordPress, however, is an entirely different animal. WordPress is a platform, NOT a social network. So when you or I create a website (like this blog itself), we are using WordPress as the platform. If we link outbound, and do NOT use the nofollow link, then that is definitely a link, and definitely counts. So try to get blogger using WordPress (as well as any other platform) to link to you. That’s a good thing!
